Endure Blackberry Aquathlon Race Results and Review

It was the very first time SWIMBIKERUN.ph covered a race. Though unofficially.* :) I usually prefer being on the other side of the spectrum and competing but since I cannot train, I was reduced to being a spectator and a lonely cheering boy. Wishing goodluck and encouraging other participants to enjoy the race and race harder. It was all good though. Suffice to say, I had fun out there.

With a P350 reg fee, (Yes there are still races like this!) you can say that this is a very well organized event. From registration down to the awarding. The event was run by the Endure Multisport team and you can clearly see each of their members enthusiasm about the event. If you live and breathe multisport, this is definitely bound to rub off the events that you organize.

The swimming pool used was good. According to a participant, the water was not super clear but not super murky either. I’m not so sure though if the pool length was exactly 25m. Please feel free comment or to correct me if I’m wrong.

The run route from what I heard from participants was hard. Uphills galore! There was merely a flat part on the run course. Good thing I decided to just cover the event. Sometimes.. being sick has its perks ;)

For a such a small event the Endure Blackberry Aquathlon definitely lived up to expectations. As evidenced by what you can see on their facebook page, everyone was congratulating the team for a job well done.

If there’s one gripe I have about this event its the results. Some of the results took time before they were finalized causing the awarding ceremony to be delayed. As of posting time, it has already been past 48 hours and the results posted are still unofficial.

Don’t get me wrong though, the event was still awesome. :) I’m sure the entire Endure Multisport team would learn from this and I’m already looking forward to the next event that they’ll organize. This time hopefully, I’m on the startlist and ready to compete :)

I’ll give this race 4 out of 5 stars.

A triathlete making a comeback and a true blue Scorpio. That sums it up quite nicely :)

Thanks for covering the ENDURE event, small but definitely enthusiastic. I love supporting events like this to encourage beginners to try multisports. I also join to motivate myself to train (again) for the bigger races like SUBIT, etc.

So results are secondary to me, especially the placing. But I just noticed that not only are the times a question mark, even the placings are a bit off. I will just use this as an example. Based on pics that my wife took of the event, I went off in the same wave as Hec Yuzon. We had a good battle in the swim and the run. He gained on me and passed me with 500 meters to go in the run but I pushed in the last 150 meters and even passed him before the finish tape.

So I reckoned that I would place higher than Hec. Am just surprised he finished 7th and I placed 9th. He even finished more than 15 seconds faster! So for the sake of th next race and maybe for those who are in the top places, more accuracy can be implemented.

For me, great race and great people. Kudos to SBR and the ENDURE team!
