3 Is Greater Than 1 Website Launch

3 IS GREATER THAN 1

We are Kim Mangrobang, Monica Torres, and LC Langit, top Philippine triathletes and best friends. We were virtually strangers when we had to live under one roof for a triathlon training camp at Subic Bay, Zambales, in 2008. We shared the exact same training, racing, eating and sleeping schedule. After an awkward first two weeks, we discovered that despite our differences, we also shared the same passion for sport, and the same energetic and fun-loving spirits!

Living together on and off for the past three years have made us very close (at one camp we even had to share the same bed). We’ve cheered each other on through all the toughest workouts, the worst race results, injury, sickness and every little thing in between.

This past 2011, we witnessed the incredible growth of triathlon and endurance sports in the country. With several multisport events being held every weekend, and the growing awareness and support from the media, corporate sponsors and the general public, we started receiving a lot of recognition and messages of support and admiration through Facebook and other social media.

Serious athletes, weekend warriors, and even total strangers started coming up to us at events. We are overwhelmed and grateful for all the support we have received this year. And this has inspired us to share our story with you.

Our message is simple: IF WE CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!

LC is a De La Salle University grad, varsity swim coach, veteran swimmer and triathlete! She has raced and placed in Switzerland, France, Japan, Greece, Oman, Korea, Qatar, China and all around Asia. She loves music, photography, and movies, and aspires to be a filmmaker!

Kim is a student of the School of Fashion and the Arts and is a member of the Philippine National Triathlon Team. She holds the current Philippine record for standard distance and has been doing triathlons since she was 12 years old! She loves fashion, social events and racing abroad!

Monica graduated Cum Laude Bachelor of Sports Science from the University of the Philippines, Diliman and is the 3x defending Ironman 70.3 Philippines Elite Champion. She is married to Coach Jojo Macalintal of TriMac Coaching and is a Facebook and Twitter fiend!
