For now, we’ve been receiving interesting comments about the race from our readers. But since we weren’t there to cover it, feel free to share your comments and experience about the race in our comments section. :)
Race wasn’t organized very well. They let the aquathlon and triathlon waves to go on the same wave. As a result, the marshals were confused. They even stopped a participant who was on her way to her run because the marshal was insisting that she has to have her bike with her when she is doing aquathlon and not triathlon.
They also changed the adult’s sprint bike route at the last minute. This also caused a lot of confusion. There were a lot of u-turns (right u-turns) and no marshals at these u-turns.
There was only 1 water station in the run route when it was already very humid by the time the last age group was racing.
Agree with Hazel. I was in her wave too but on my last bike loop, I asked the marshals why the course was short by around 6km. It was supposed to be a 30km route. They insisted that I (together with other girls behind me) do another extra loop- “may bagong loop na po”. Though I felt weird about this (because not all were asked to do this extra loop), I went ahead fearing DQ if I did not.
Next time, I hope the organizers will do it right. There were many first-timers in the race who were dismayed. Not good for the sport. I’ve been racing for 3 years but this is my worst race experience. I was embarrassed because I encouraged many friends to do their first tri or relay here but they were appalled by the chaos.
