With over 16k views and counting, the Vaseline Men XTERRA Tri-Outs is now officially VIRAL HOT! Watch the video, vote for your favorite athlete, and get a chance to win P50,000!

To vote, simply visit the Vaseline Men XTERRA website and after watching the video, vote by clicking the “VOTE NOW” banner ad! It’s that simple! :)

Now for the biggest question of them all, who do we think should go with Noy Jopson, Drew Arellano, and Matteo Guidicelli to the XTERRA World Championships in Maui and be part of Team Philippines? Our choice is pretty clear. Who else than?

ALL OF US!

All the participants raced with their hearts and pride on the line. No one gave up, no one took it easy, and definitely, no one survived without tasting the mud. So instead of endorsing only one or two candidates, we’ll take this opportunity to endorse each participant and tell you why we think he deserves a slot on the team. (Yep, we’re cool like that ;) )

Don’t know who to vote either? See our rundown below. We’ll start with Triathlete # 3!

Triathlete 3: Raffy Zamora

This white dude, (yep he’s that white!), eats, lives, and breathes XTERRA. I’ve seen this guy ride and he’s a heck of a mountain biker. Having been to the world championships the year before, he’ll surely be a big asset to the team. Among the team, he’s the only “legit” mountain biker.

Triathlete 4: Hector Yuzon

Being my roomie in the camp, I can’t count anymore how many times he mentioned going to Maui is his ultimate dream. Now will his dream become a reality? We’ll find out soon enough. I also can’t count anymore how many times he mentioned that going to MAUI is his ultimate dream. Hector also openly declares he’s no longer interested in normal  “on-road” triathlons and just wants to focus with XTERRA and off-road races. Can’t blame him, we’re hooked to the mud too!

Triathlete 5: Carlos de Guzman

Just how important is this for me? Being in MAUI with the team for the world championship would mean that I am officially back in the game. That my battle with anemia is over and that I can now push myself again in training and be the best athlete I can be. For someone who’s in-love with the pain of training and racing, there’s nothing more frustrating than being on the sideline and not being able to race. I’m in love with the sport and it’s always such a huge privilege for me whenever I’m suffering with the best of the best. And what better way to make my comeback than to be at the starting line of the Xterra World Championships! The team is also assured top-notch coverage if I get to win!

Triathlete 6: Martin Camara

Ah, the good ole’ Doc Martin! Nope, he doesn’t own the famous boot company with honeycomb soles, Doc Martin is the big cheese of Intercare and Rock tape (check out our SPOTTED section for details of ROCKTAPE). If he gets chosen, he’s already declaring he’ll take care of the team and give them world class medical care! That alone is enough reason why Doc Martin deserves a spot on the team! We tried Doc Martin’s chiropractic expertise in the camp and we must admit, he’s a pretty damn good one.

Triathlete 7: Redg Plopinio

Redg dominated, obliterated, and flat out beat us fair and square. For that alone, by being the top AG winner (if we look at Matteo and Drew as the Pro’s), Redg clearly deserves one of the two possible spots. Besides, with him on the team, they can all be assured of top-notch photography! Timeline cover photo galore!

Triathlete 8: Mark Hernandez

Looks may not show it but this guy is a B.A.M.F. (bad ass mo**** f*****). Mark has ran 2 editions of the famous Bataan Death March Ultramarathon. First the 102 kilometer and then the even tougher 160k version! If you’re insane enough to even attempt the shorter 102k (The BDM is and will continue to be my ultimate dream), then by all means, you deserve a spot on the team! Though bad luck hit him on the latter stages of Day 3, he still finished the run and suffered with the rest of us.

Triathlete 9: Jinoe Gavan

Just how new is Jinoe to triathlon? Well, the camp”s three triathlons are the first three triathlons of his life. With running as his ultimate weapon, Jinoe shined when it came to trail running. He gave me a good fight as well on day 2 of the camp. For us, Jinoe is definitely “THE MAN” of the camp.

That being said, it’s all now up to YOU! Vote for who you think deserves to go to MAUI and be part of Team Philippines! Who knows, along with sending your two favorite athletes to the world championships, you might win a cool P50,000 just by voting!

SBR.ph Team

A triathlete making a comeback and a true blue Scorpio. That sums it up quite nicely :)
