Breaking News : SBR.ph Tri Series 2013 Distances Doubled

Hi everyone! This is to officially announce that we doubled the distances of the last two remaining legs of the SBR.ph Tri Series. To make sure everyone gets their money’s worth, the Duaman Duathlon will now be a 6k run 40k bike and another 6k run, while the Triman Triathlon is now a 2k swim 50k bike and then capped with a 10k run.

Doubling the distance means that the racers will also get twice the fun!

“Sana mas mahaba pa yung karera, enjoy eh”.  said one racer during the recently concluded Aquaman Aquathlon event.

Be careful what you wish for!

The time slot of the Duaman and Triman will also be the same as the Aquaman Aquathlon, 12pm!

“We’re also considering making the swim part of the Triman done in open water!” said Carlos of SBR.ph. “That would definitely make the event more exciting!”

Hot and spicy! Just the way we like it!

Imagine swimming in an out and back, 2k open water swim course! Full of jellyfish!

If we can find a suitable venue, we’ll also try to make the run part of the Triman off-road!

This announcement is effective as of today and is not subject to change.

For comments, feedback, and suggestions, please don’t hesitate to post in our comments section.

We’d love to hear what you guys think! It might also help to check out the date today!

A triathlete making a comeback and a true blue Scorpio. That sums it up quite nicely :)

  1. this  would  be  more  challenging  to  newbies  like  me…  but  there  is  a  saying: ” pain  is  temporary  but  gain  of  experience  is  a  wealth  “…  Bring  IT  ON!!!

  2. If newbies and seasoned Triathletes are expecting to race with the
original distances, do you think it is fair for them to race with the new
distances since dates are too short to add trainings?
I am just afraid that newbies and seasoned Triathletes like me might be
overwhelmed with the new distances and push more than what they have practiced
for. With the past triathlon races, there are Triathletes who pushed themselves
really hard but unfortunately didn’t make it.
I was just thinking that newbies are supposed to enjoy their first endurance
races so as to enjoy all their incoming races also. Challenges are definitely
good but let us all consider those who practice for the distances that were
    post months ago.
I just wanted everybody to finish all your 3 races with a smile. You’ve done
a great job on the first one (aquaman), there are still to fine tune but in
time I know you will become one of the most or organized group when it comes to
    endurances races.

  3. this will be my first duathlon race, and i was usprised today that the distance was doubled…. hopefully the start time would be earlier? 12 noon will be very hot….considering the newbies…we might get heat stroke!!!!! so saaaaaddd ,watcha think?

  4. Truths ba itey? O panggulantang lang ng mga katulad kong virginal sa larangang ito? Ayaw kong dumating ng finish line na super ngarag ang fez! Yan kung makakarating!

  5. Most registrants for Triman are begginers. 2km swim is far too long. Wala naman problema yun kung yun yung expected sa registrants 4 months ago. To change this now would be too soon. Especially the training and venue planning for this said event have already been made. Please finalize the distances and the venue as soon as possible. Or give options for a short distance and long distance catergory. :)

  6. And to add, with what happened sa Tri1 in Subic. Changing venues ( or distances) too soon gives more room for error to both organizers and participants. Please plan the ambulance routes well. Thank you.
