The Speedway Brick Series | September 21, 2014

Participants are given one hour to bike around the 4km speedway and complete as many loops as they can given the time period. They will then go into transition and assemble again at the starting line for the run portion of the race. The speedway will be then divided into a 2km loop where participants are given 30 minutes to complete as many loops as they can!

RACE DETAILS: 

WHEN: 21 September, 2014, Sunday

WHERE: Clark Speedway, Angeles City, Pampanga

NUMBER OF ATHLETES: 70

RACE/REGISTRATION FEE: P1,500 ( see below for inclusions)

BIKE COURSE LENGTH: 4km (as much loops in 1 hour)

RUN COURSE LENGTH: 2km (as much loops in 30 minutes)

ASSEMBLY TIME/REGISTRATION: 4:30am

RACE MECHANICS

Participants are given one hour to bike around the 4km speedway and complete as many loops as they can given the time period. They will then go into transition and assemble again at the starting line for the run portion of the race. The speedway will be then divided into a 2km loop where participants are given 30 minutes to complete as many loops as they can. The top male/female participant with the most number of loops for the bike and run leg will be awarded – in the event that there is one winner for both legs, there will also be a special prize to be given. For the entire duration of the event, a strict no littering policy will be implemented. Although there will be aid stations available it is the sole responsibility of the participant to provide their own containers for the refreshments provided

RULES AND REGULATIONS

– Athletes of all age-groups and skill levels are allowed to bike and/or run during the event, but only age-groupers who both bike and run for the entire duration of the event are qualified to compete for the top male and female awards

– Any athlete who have competed at least once in his or her multisport career as an elite or professional athlete is not qualified to compete for the awards

– Age-groupers who choose to bike or run only can do so, but will not be qualified to compete for the awards as well

BIKE LEG

– Only road bikes and time trial/triathlon bikes will be allowed in the speedway. There will be no draft martials to restrict drafting, but is highly discouraged due to safety reasons

– Gun goes off at 5:45am for a 1 hour bike around the 4km course. Special prizes will be awarded to the top male and female athletes who have cycled the most loops around the course

– Marshals/sweepers will start signaling riders to clear the track on the 50 minute mark from the starting point of the loop (please refer to bike course map), to get everyone ready to start the run leg at the same time

– In cases where leading athletes have cycled the same number loops, tie breakers will be based on who crossed the finish line first on the last completed lap

RUN LEG

– Gun goes off at 7:00am for a 30 minute run around the 2km course. Special prizes will be awarded to the top male and female athletes who have ran the most loops around the course

– Marshals/sweepers will start signaling runners to clear the track on the 23 minute mark from the starting point of the loop (please refer to run course map)

– Tie breakers will be based on who crossed the finish line first on the last completed lap

RACE NOT WASTE POLICY

– Any form of littering on the track premises during the race merits a disqualification from winning any award from the contest –including raffle prizes

– Although there will be aid stations available it is the sole responsibility of the participant to provide their own containers and drinks/nutrition for the race, the refreshments provided is merely a supplement to this but is not the responsibility of the organizer

– Slots are to be acquired on a first come, first served basis
– Application DOES NOT guarantee a slot for the race
– You will be notified by an email reply on whether or not you were able to secure a slot for the race, or whether you have been waitlisted

STEP 2 – REGISTER/SETTLE FEES (please see registration info below)

– You may only pay fees upon receiving an email reply that you were able to secure a slot for the race
– You may deposit race fees to BPI saving account no. 9049-1829-85, then send picture/copy of transaction receipt to [email protected]. Please indicate your full name on the transaction slip along with a signed copy/picture of the event waiver
– Slots unpaid for by September 7 will be opened to waitlisted athletes. Athletes who are waitlisted will be informed directly by email if any slots are freed up

– Names of participants will only appear on the confirmed list when their slots have already been paid for
