2015 Atleta Ako Women’s Aquathlon | Race Results and Review

Congratulations to all the strong women winners and finishers of the inaugural Atleta Ako Women’s Aquathlon! We loved the no-nonsense / no-pressure atmosphere of the event. Everyone was there just to have fun and enjoy the race. Bike King, once again, didn’t disappoint.

There were plenty of good points about this race which we absolutely loved. Aside from the loot bags which contained insane amounts of goodies, the 3-at-a-time swim start made the swim much more comfortable for the ultra newbies. The track-only run of the event was also a nice touch. :)

The Atleta Ako Women’s Aquathlon is the ONLY race where even the supporters enjoyed!

The race consisted of two distances, the standard 500m swim – 6km run and the petite, which is a 300m swim – 3km run. We overheard a lot of peeps as well using the race as a tune up for the upcoming Aquaman Aquathlon. “Pag natapos niyo to, pwede na kayo sa Aquaman” – said Raul of Bike King as he released the petite distance participants 3 at a time.

SBR.ph is a strong advocate of woman empowerment. Which is why we did everything that we can to ensure that this event will be a success. This event needs to stay and should be a must-join race for all women athletes (and newbies) of the country for years to come.

SBR.ph Team

A triathlete making a comeback and a true blue Scorpio. That sums it up quite nicely :)
