Wild and Kahlefeldt conquer the Century Tuna IRONMAN 70.3’s third run at Subic Bay

MANILA, Philippines – International pro triathletes Ruedi Wild and Radka Kahlefeldt bagged first place at the 2017 Century IRONMAN 70.30 at Subic Bay, Philippines, finishing at 3:48:24 and 4:22:13 respectively.


 

Wild of Switzerland sped past previous Century Tuna IRONMAN 70.3 winners Craig “Crowie” Alexander (3:48:57) and Tim Reed (3:50:17), both from Australia, who came in second and third. Radka Kahlefeldt of Czech Republic snatched first place from last year’s Century Tuna IRONMAN 70.3 winner Caroline Steffen (4:25:55) of Switzerland who came in second with Dimity Lee Duke (4:41:57) of Australia at third spot.

Meanwhile, in the Asian Elite division, August Benedicto of the Philippines returns to win the top prize, finishing at 4:25:42. Second place went to fellow Filipino Benjamin Rana (4:49:16), followed by Madhurjya Borah (5:09:20) of India.

The winners received medals from Century Tuna Marketing Manager Gela Pecson and Senior Product Manager Noel Lazaro during the awards presentation. The top five men and women finishers of the pro category of the Century Tuna IRONMAN 70.3 receive prize money as follows:

1st place: US$ 3,000
2nd place: US$ 2,000
3rd place: US$ 1,250
4th place: US$ 750
5th place: US$ 500

This year’s Century Tuna IRONMAN 70.3 serves as a qualifying race for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, with a total of 30 slots at stake.
