As the 2011 multisport season comes to a close, on December 1, 2011, SWIMBIKERUN.ph sets another milestone for Philippine multisport as it opens up nominations to the 1st Annual SWIMBIKERUN.ph Awards.

It’s no secret that 2011 has been a really good season for Philippine multisport. We’ve seen a record number of participants in various triathlon, duathlon, and aquathlon races. SWIMBIKERUN.ph looks back and gives recognition to the best Filipinos athletes who made waves and pushed the Philippine multisport scene to the next level.

True to its roots, SWIMBIKERUN.ph is giving the power to nominate and vote to its readers and choose who among our peers deserve to be nominated to the respective categories. A special SWIMBIKERUN.ph Awards nomination form will be available here on SBR.ph on the nomination date.

There will also be special awards like the SWIMBIKERUN.ph Award for Most Outstanding Contribution to Triathlon.

Here are the categories.

1. Men’s Elite Triathlete of the Year (Local)

2. Women’s Elite Triathlete of the Year (Local)

3. Men’s Elite Triathlete of the Year (Foreign)

4. Women’s Elite Triathlete of the Year (Foreign)

5. Men’s Duathlete of the Year

6. Women’s Duathlete of the Year

7. Men’s Age Group Triathlete of the Year

8. Women’s Age Group Triathlete of the Year

9. Youth Triathlete of the Year (Kids)

10. Coach of the Year

11. Team of the Year

12. Race of the Year

13. Bike of the Year

14. Gadget of the Year

15. Running Shoe of the Year

Nomination Procedures :

To nominate your vote, a clickable link will be provided on SWIMBIKERUN.ph on December 1, 2011, where you’ll be shown a page with all the 15 categories listed. You can then type in your nominee next to the relevant award. It’s as simple as that.

Also, in the gear and race categories, make sure you remember to put down both the brand and product and the full race name that you want to nominate (for example, K-Swiss K-Ona, not just K-Swiss. Animo Sprint Triathlon, not just sprint triathlon). Similarly, with the Coach of the Year award, it must be the individual coach you vote for and not the coaching company.

Voting Procedures :

Nominations will close and voting will start on December 9, 2011.

  • After nominations has closed the top 5 nominees with the most number of nominations will be shown in their respective category.
  • Another round of voting will take place.
  • Nominee with the most number of votes win.
  • All votes will be monitored and you will only be allowed to vote once.

Announcement of Winners :

Winners will be announced on January 6, 2012!

  3. Hi Carlos! I saw this from Ani de Leon’s twitter. Super cool event! You’re right it’s time Filipino multisport athletes get recognized. Kudos to you for doing this and I hope the entire multisport community will support this event.

  5. Sir, question lang po. Paano kung yung gusto kong i-nominate sa elite Filipino award e bumaba sa age group sa CamSur? Saan po ba talaga sila kasali? Siguro po elite na ulit sila kase wala ng Kona slot this time. Salamat po.
