Training Secrets for Ironman 70.3 Davao by Herbalife Ambassadors: Omar Paredes, Ines Santiago, and Ronald Molit

The Ironman triathlon is a grueling race that demands much of its competitors, but tens of thousands are drawn to it to earn the title of “finisher.” The Ironman 70.3 Davao, which took place on March 26, 2023, at Azuela Cove in Davao City, is one of the most highly anticipated events in the community. Herbalife Ambassadors Omar Paredes, Ines Santiago, and Ronald Molit, all noted triathletes, competed in the Davao Ironman and brought pride to the country by participating in some of the world’s most prestigious competitions, including the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon and the Ironman World Championship.

Herbalife played a crucial role in fueling all three triathletes to cross the finish line, and here’s how they prepared for the Ironman 70.3 Davao:

Omar Paredes, coach and triathlete, stresses the importance of nutrition and hydration. According to Paredes, “Nutrition plays an important role if you want to perform well and recover fast. If you fail to plan your nutrition and hydration, your performance might be compromised.” To prepare for Ironman, Paredes trains in his free time either before or after work and does long rides and runs on weekends. He also trains in two disciplines back-to-back in brick workouts. Herbalife products such as H24 Rebuild Strength, Niteworks, NRG, and Aloe Tea Concentrate have aided Paredes in becoming a better athlete, and he continues to use them to reach his objectives. Paredes advises aspiring athletes to look for a triathlon coach or join a team to receive guidance and improve their craft.

Ines Santiago, the first Filipina finisher at the Ironman World Championship, is a firm believer in daily training. She says, “Since this has become a lifestyle for me, it’s harder to miss a workout than to actually do one.” Santiago trains in the morning, prioritizing work and family time afterward. All parts of the training process, including nutrition and recovery, are crucial, according to her. She relies on Herbalife’s H24 Rebuild Strength for muscle recovery, Xtra-Cal for bone health, and other products such as Cell Complex, F1 Shake, Vitamins and Minerals, antioxidants, and the Herbalife Skin Protective Moisturizer with SPF 30. Santiago emphasizes the importance of finding balance and taking care of the body to prevent injury and fatigue. Her advice to beginners is to enjoy the journey, focus on small and achievable goals, and remain present.

Consistency is key for Ronald Molit. He claims, “The most efficient way to train is to do it consistently.” Molit has participated in several Ironman events and advises aspiring athletes to set small goals and be consistent in their efforts. Molit’s training routine includes swim and run sessions in the morning, a bike session in the afternoon, and weight training twice a week. Molit also emphasizes the importance of proper nutrition and hydration in achieving optimal performance. Molit uses Herbalife products such as the H24 Rebuild Strength, Niteworks, and Herbal Aloe Concentrate to aid in his training and recovery.
