Powerade Duathlon Leg 3 | Race Results and Review

Congratulations to all the winners and finishers of the Powerade Duathlon Series Leg 3! Finally breaking the 500+ barrier, the third leg is the officially the biggest duathlon ever held in the Philippines!

SWIMBIKERUN.ph is a proud media partner of the Powerade Duathlon Series Leg 3.

Like leg 1 and leg 2, in the elite category, the duo of Rubeno Javier and Mirasol Abad of Sante Barley absolutely crushed the competition. Javier was unchallenged all throughout the pancake flat race course as he crossed the line with plenty of time to spare (enough to do a cool down run!) even before the second placer crossed the line.

The course was exactly as advertised, except for a couple of speed bumps that slowed that the riders, the course was flat and fast! Perhaps the best part of the race was the weather! Racers were blessed with almost perfect racing conditions as it rained hard an hour before the the official gun start which cooled down the race course (also making it really slippery!).

After the race, all participants were treated to awesome post race meals (the best bbq!) courtesy of Inengs. :)

It was also funny seeing the Powerade Arc run out of air 2 minutes to go before the finish line! :)

Tri Clark painted the town yellow as they got a podium on almost every age category. Also notable finishes were Mercy Go of TIMEX-TMM who won her age group, LC Langit of 3 is greater than 1 and Tricia Chongbian of Polo Tri also getting back to form! Matteo Guidicelli also made a lot of girls scream as he also scored a podium finish.

Supermodel model Isabelle Daza also made her multisport debut!

The future of multisport in the Philippines is definitely looking bright. Most of the racers of the Powerade Duathlon Leg 3 were newbies. Soon to be triathletes maybe?

All we can say is, enjoy the experience and welcome to the fold :)

Thanks to everyone who visited the SBR.ph booth! More importantly, thanks to everyone who rocked the SBR.ph Tri Suit during the race!

See below for an important announcement from Popo Remigio, organizers of the Powerade Duathlon Series Leg 3

happy holidays everyone!

congratulations going out to all winners and finishers! i hope you are all enjoying your recovery, crashed on the couch in front of the television or out riding and running AGAIN, feeling no post-race difference at all! it was a well-attended powerade duathlon last sunday! close to 500 racers showed up at Belle Reve in spite of the initial thunderstorm scare very early in the morning! these are very fast times, indeed, despite a slightly longer sprint distance, owing to the flat course and the cool and cloudy racing weather. thank you everyone, participants and sponsors, for bringing and sharing your energies and making this race a success!

btw, a fellow racer dropped his shades along the run course. one of you may have set it aside for safekeeping. please get in touch with me, thank you!

results are listed below as well as in the excel file in the attachment. our apologies for some changes made, especially to the winners in their respective age groups! all those who were disqualified (DSQ) lacked at least one bike lap. do let me know if there are corrections still to be made. will post individual and team points asap if there are no more corrections in the results.

A triathlete making a comeback and a true blue Scorpio. That sums it up quite nicely :)
