Rudy Project Triathlon | Race Results and Review
Congratulations to the winners and finishers of the Rudy Project Triathlon! Due to some unfortunate events, water was nowhere to be found in the man made Republic Wake Park (there was but was not enough), which left the organizers no choice but to turn the event into a duathlon.

The swim was replaced by 6k run followed by a 30k bike and then a 3k run.
Matt O’Halloran topped the men’s overall division who overtook Rubeno Javier of Sante Barley at the final 500 meters of the race. Ironman 70.3 Cebu champ August Benedicto rounded out the men’s overall with a third place finish.
In the Women’s division, super duathlete Mirasol Abad won easily. With Kim Mangrobang and Amanda Carpo getting second and third respectively.

One of the worst races ever. Unless they make up for it, Rudy Project triathlon will have to live with the infamy of the being the only triathlon organized in the world where the swim start has no water!
The biggest question is why didn’t the organizers inform the participants about the possible duathlon? It wont take a rocket scientist to find out whether there would be enough water in the lake come race time. That could’ve saved the participants from the trouble and for others, gave them the opportunity to back out.
of course they dont want that because they will lose their money, their respect, their reputation, their faces, oh well now they really did.
Another big question is the female winner is the “super duathlete” Mirasol Abad. So they knew that the race was going to be a duathlon?

Rudy project clearly owes us an apology grabe ginastos ng team namin para lang makasali dito tapos niloko lang tayo. A HOSTAGE OF RUDY the keyword they were looking for was crisis management and damage control, but of course they were in DENIAL. the fiasco could’ve been prevented if there were explanations, correspondence, and of course sincere apologies. i felt like a hostage in the sense that i couldnt do anything except follow everyones emotions (calm and cool) but deep down inside furious. trained and prepared, ate and rested, woke up and drank very expensive supplements and traveled to the site. then its was only then that i learned that it was not a complete event. wow this is not what i signed up for but then again kept my cool. baka naman made in ITALY talaga and very nice. did the one ,two run. got lost with some 20 other guys so did double na lang para di ma bad trip. then lined up for 2 hours for my made in china sold in divisoria , nice shirt though. but it couldve been more efficient and nicer. ( ang tagal ko ng ginagawa to eh) the funny thing here was. all of my xtreme buddies knew that oct 20 pa magbubukas tong place, why didnt they tell us in advance or postponed it, so that my friends from bacolod wouldnt have come all the way here to do this. parang from the moment this started, LOKOHAN talaga. well what can i do, hostage nga eh, walang say, walang voice. at sino ba naman ako and who would even listen to me. HOSTAGE lang po. ( sorry for being too careful here, kasi may cybercrime law na eh baka ma LIBEL ako) hostage na nga na libel pa wow. mag swi swimming na nga ako, oh dont forget ha No swim CAP, No race. Like what you said, the way it was handled was so wrong plus wala pa yung limited edition shades on site as promised! What’s the excuse there?Legal action should be pursed here in my opinion! There is no excuse here whatsoever. Race should have been moved to another date the moment the organizers realized that the event was compromised. there is a duathlon coming up november, i am keeping my fingers crossed bacause this might be a TRIATHLON hahahaha
