Congratulations to the winners and finishers of the toughest triathlon in the archipelago! The TIMEX 226 Bohol Triathlon! Out of the 95 participants, 80 crossed the line within the cut off time, 7 DNF’d, and one got DQ’d. To top it all off, the event also saw its first ever in-race wedding proposal!
SWIMBIKERUN.ph is a proud media partner of the TIMEX 226 Bohol Triathlon.
TIMEX 226 also marked the debut of our very own live feed system. For the 2013 racing season and beyond, you will now be able to keep track of the race via SBR.ph :) Cool eh?
Franklin Penalosa of TIMEX-TMM won the tightly fought Men’s division with a 10:26 finish time followed closely by then-defending champion Arland Macasieb. Benjamin Rana was leading almost the entire race but was caught in the run, but did enough to secure 3rd place. All three were separate by barely 2 minutes.
In the women’s division, Ani de Leon-Brown won the event with a 12:18 finish time followed by Camilla Brooks of Team Bike King, and Celma “Mamita” Hitalia for second and third respectively.
Check out the impromptu race review by 10th overall finisher and TIMEX 226’s official pretty boy, Don “TorpeDon” Velasco.
This is a REALLY strong field! Amazing! Really need to step my game up for next year!
Despite being outclassed by a lot of really strong newcomers, I’m so glad I was able to give my all for this race. Given the really bad swim conditions, strong headwinds, and hot run, I’m still so proud of my splits and my overall performance! Strategy, conditioning, and heart all came together.Congratulations to all those who competed and recover well!
Thank you to the supporters and well-wishers!
This year/season was an awesome one! Lots of memorable events to cherish and a few important people touched my life… No need for shout-outs! You know who you are :)
Now, on to the next challenge!!
