Happy New Year From SBR.ph! | Happy Birthday To Us!

What a year 2012 has been. But before anything else, we just want to say THANK YOU to all of you for supporting us since day 1. To our sponsors, our featured athletes and coaches, facebook fans (yes, we’re a sucker for likes!), twitter followers, and new friends that we made along the way. Thanks for making SBR.ph a part of your 2012 multisport journey.

We’re also celebrating our second birthday today! To those who don’t know, SBR.ph was launched only last January 1, 2011 :)

2013 is set to be a very exciting year for the sport of triathlon and multisport in general. It’s no question how big our sport now is in our country.

We can still remember a particular race last 2008, wherein the organizers got really happy because their race garnered a total of 123 participants. Yep, one hundred three! That was already a milestone back then.

Now? Registration for Ironman 70.3 Cebu, with a max of 1500 participants (do correct me if I’m wrong), topped off in only 5 days! The amazing part is, the race won’t happen till August!

2013 also marks the start of the inaugural SWIMBIKERUN.ph Tri Series! We’re just ironing out some stuff but we plan on opening registration this week! So watch out for it! We’re excited for it as much as you are.

It has been an AMAZING ride so far. So allow us to thank you by inviting you to come ride with us and celebrate this January 13, 2013 for our 2nd Year SBR.ph Anniversary Ride! Like last year, ton’s of prizes will be raffled off and to make this event even more special, we will hold the awarding ceremony of the 2nd Annual SBR.ph Awards right after the event!

The venue will be at The Village Sports Club, inside BF Homes, Paranaque, Philippines. If you don’t know how to go there, just click the link or download the directions.

We will start the ride at The Village Sports Club and then ride all the way to Shell in General Trias before heading back to The Village Sports Club. The ride will be approximately 60k and will be an easy/controlled (we wish!) pace. To the newbies, you have the option to ride with the group just up to the end of Daang Hari and then turn around. From there, you can do Daang Hari loops and go back to The Village. Also, you can wait for the group at Petron in Daang Reyna and ride with us going back to the venue.

To those bringing their families, they have access to the swimming pool from 6am until 3pm during the day of the event. Just pay the standard pool guest fee which is P250 (which is already inclusive of locker access). Think of the ride as a regular group ride, only bigger! There will be no marshalls and traffic will not be controlled. So please exercise caution.

2013 looks to be another stellar year for our beloved sport and we can’t wait for the races to begin! You can be sure that SWIMBIKERUN.ph will continue to provide you with all the news and action in the coming season and beyond.

All the best to you and your loved ones, and may 2013 be a year of happiness, p.r.’s, and prosperity.

Thanks and God bless.

Regards,

The SBR.ph Team

A triathlete making a comeback and a true blue Scorpio. That sums it up quite nicely :)
