Take on the challenge, start strong, and finish stronger! Let’s support the 1st Philippine Sirens’ Swimathon Challenge! For a 600 entry fee, this fundraising event challenges you to swim as many laps as you can at the 50m pool of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex all for the benefit of the Philippine Water Polo Sirens who will compete at the 2015 South East Asian Games!

The best part? You’ll get to try water polo and play with the Philippine Sirens’ too!

RACE OBJECTIVE

  • The Swimathon challenges the participants to swim the most number of loops in one (1) hour.

*Participants in ages 6-10 may use equipment (kick board, paddle, pull buoy, etc.) but will not be eligible for a podium finish

RACE COURSE

  • The Swimathon shall be conducted in a 50-meter swimming pool with three sets of two (2) lanes, totaling to 100 meters each loop.
  • After each loop, each participant must go back to the lane where they started.

NOTE:

-The turning point per lap should be made within the 5 meter flag.
-Participants may rest anytime in the Easy Lane either to their left or right.
-If the participant wants to get out of the pool to rest, they may do so, provided it is after finishing a loop and not in between or else the loop will not be counted.
-When the race ends, all unfinished laps will not be counted. A 2 minute warning whistle will be made to alert the participants that the race will soon finish.

RACE RULES

  • All participants are required to wear the swimming cap and body markings provided.
  • Proper swimming attire: Swimming Suit / Swimming Trunks / Tri Suits
  • Race Marshals will be there to guide the participants.
  • Participants are free to take breaks, if desired, within the hour.
  • Non-participants are not allowed near the pool area. Non-participants may stay at the bleachers.
  • There will be awarding of prizes to the top three (3) participants in each age bracket with the most number of laps.
