The 2015 Mt Mayon Triathlon continues to be one of the most fun and well organized provincial races we’ve ever done (and covered). Great swim course, fantastic bike route, and a killer run course. The crowd was superb and you can clearly see the involvement of the local government. Add super passionate organizers to that and you got yourselves a winning formula. An absolute must-do race for next year. Let’s continue to support local homegrown races. Put this one in your calendar, folks. We highly recommend it.
If there’s one thing to nit-pick about the race though, it’s the traffic congestion that happened on the bike course. Absolutely no way athletes should counterflow against oncoming traffic during a race. That’s simply too dangerous. Other than that, the race is superb.
