ASTC Paratriathlon Asian Championships | Race Results and Review

For the Philippines, the highlight of the event was surely Sixto Ducay, who overcame a poor swim, to capture 2nd place. Keiichi Sato of Japan was declared the champion who finished the race in 1:07:20 while Seo Jeong-Guk of Korea wrapped up the podium in 1:20:25.

In the PT2  division, Japanese Kenshiro Nakayama topped the podium with a spectacular 1:24:26 finish time. Andy Avellano finished second in 1:51:00 while heavy favorite Arnel Aba finished third in  1:56:51.
It was a complete Japanese sweep as Junpei Kimuna won the PT1 division in 1:11:25. Hikeki Uda ruled the PT3 class in 1:12:15 and Ryu Nakazawa topped the male PT5 category in 1:14:24 and Atsuko Yamada ruling the female PT5 division in 1:23:37.

The ASTC Paratriathlon Asian Championships is organized by Triathlon Association of the Philippines and sanctioned by the Asian Triathlon Confederation (ASTC), Asian Paralympic Committee and Philspada. The event is sponsored by Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Tourism Department, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), ASTC, Asian Centre for Insulation, Philippines, Gatorade, SPEEDO, SM Cares, Canon and Standard Insurance along with media partners Sports Radio 918, TeleDyaryo, RaceDay, SWIMBIKERUN.ph, Kikay Runner and PinoyFitness.com.
