The largest and most awaited triathlon event of the year, Bataan International Triathlon (BI3) held last November 28-29, 2013 was indeed a huge success. Professional triathletes from all over the world participated and once again raced past Filipino heritage sites at Las Casas de Acuzar Bagac, Bataan—only now also having the privilege to race alongside the 3-time Ironman World Champion, Mirinda ”Rinny” Carfrae.

Triathletes raced their hearts out as they gave all their maximum potential for a shot at winning. Deo Timbol crossed the finish first, and became the overall champion for Largo division in Men’s category, clocking in at 3 hours, 9 minutes and 38 seconds. Coming in at a close second, is from August Benedicto with 3 hours, 11 minutes and 17 seconds. In third place and another close time is Jet Ramos with 3 hours, 20 minutes and 30 seconds. Mirinda Carfrae, the 3-time Ironman World Champion from Australia did not disappoint her fans as she finished the race in 3 hours, 15 minutes and 36 seconds becoming the overall winner for Women’s category. Coming in the 2^nd spot is Japan’s Airi Sawada clocking in at 3 hours, 32 minutes and 54 seconds followed by Katja Rabe from Germany with 3 hours, 36 minutes and 41 seconds. For the Rapido division, Indonesia’s Andy Wibowo came first at 1 hour, 44 minutes and 4 seconds making him the overall champion for the Men’s category. Coming in at 2^nd place is Matt O’halloran with 1 hour, 46 minutes and 51 seconds, while Xy James Dacayanan got the 3^rd place at 1 hour, 57 minutes and. 1 second. Grace Laurenciana won the overall winner for the Women’s category coming in at 2 hours, 16 minutes and 56 seconds, followed her was Noelle De Guzman at 2 hours, 25 minutes and. 58 seconds. 3^rd placer was Kimberly Li with 2 hours, 27 minutes and 20 seconds.
