Lipura and Erediano Wins The Go For Gold Triathlon Series
After 6 tough races, it was Charles Jeremiah Lipura and Moira Frances Gabrielle Erediano who topped the inaugural Go For Gold Triathlon Series Championship!
The inter-triathlon nationwide race series is a collaboration between Sunrise Sprint and SBR.ph Tri Series which are both supported by Go For Gold. The series consisted of the following races.
APRIL 28, 2019 – GO FOR GOLD SUNRISE SPRINT – CEBU
MAY 19, 2019 – GO FOR GOLD AQUAMAN AQUATHLON – VERMOSA SPORTS HUB
JUNE 16, 2019 – GO FOR GOLD DUAMAN DUATHLON – NUVALI
JULY 7, 2019 – GO FOR GOLD SUNRISE SPRINT – DAVAO
JULY 20, 2019 – GO FOR GOLD TRIMAN TRIATHLON – CLARK
OCTOBER 27, 2019 – GO FOR GOLD SUNRISE SPRINT – SUBIC
It was a close battle in the Men’s Division between CJ Lipura and rivals Gian Taylor and Edward Macalalad. Lipura won by only 2 points while Macalalad and Taylor were tied for second place. It was sheer domination in the Women’s Division by Moira Erediano who scored a total of 100 points to clinch the series.
Each athlete would now be part of the Go For Gold National Triathlon Team and will receive a Professional Contract worth up to 100k as well as a bike from Storck Bikes Philippines. They were also handed a trophy designed by Zandro Castrillo, the nephew of national artist Eduardo Castrillo.
