The recently concluded ASICS META Time Trials in Malaysia, a spectacular road race held at Persiaran Flora Cyberjaya, marked a significant moment in the running world with a full participation of 3,000 runners. This event, now in its second year, not only pushed the boundaries of personal limits but also celebrated the spirit of achievement, resonating with the success seen in the Southeast Asian edition in Bangkok.
Highlighting the event was the outstanding performance of Filipina athlete Joida Gagnao in the Women’s Invitational Category. Representing ASICS Philippines, Gagnao clinched an impressive second place, completing the race in 39:18 minutes. Her achievement underscores the strength and talent in the Philippine running community, as she stood alongside notable Filipino personalities and athletes.
The ASICS META Time Trials also featured an elite category where athletes, equipped with the innovative METASPEED™ EDGE+ and METASPEED™ SKY+ shoes, aimed for personal bests. These shoes, designed for cadence and stride-style runners, exemplify ASICS’ commitment to innovation, offering athletes a significant advantage in their pursuit of excellence.
In addition to the race, ASICS previewed the upcoming NOVABLAST™ 4 shoe, set for a December 2023 release. This shoe, known for its ‘trampoline effect’ and FF BLAST™ PLUS ECO cushioning, was available for trial, further highlighting ASICS’ innovation in running footwear.
