Heads up SBR.ph nation! On behalf of the Manila Police District and the City of Manila, we regret to inform everyone that the event has been postponed and moved to a later date, February 9, 2014.

To all Triathlon Enthusiasts, Sponsors and Partner-Agencies

With the onset of Super Typhoon Yolanda, said to be the strongest typhoon worldwide in the last thirty years which took place less than a month after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Visayas Region, the organizers of Tri Manila 2013 announces the postponement of this event. Inasmuch as we wanted to push thru with this first Triathlon in the Capital City which was originally scheduled on November 30, 2013, the Manila Police District, together with the organizers of Tri Manila 2013 decided to give way to our nation’s recovery from the series of disasters that the Philippines is facing. Hence, the postponement of this event and have it moved to February 9, 2014 instead.

The aftermath of these calamities calls the Philippine National Police in serving and protecting the Filipino people at its top priority. It is very unfortunate on our part to have this event postponed, however, with our ultimate goal of this multiple-stage competition which is to promote high-quality tourism through sports tourism as well as to gain potential economic impact, we from Tri Manila 2013 is one with the nation in rebuilding the nation through the spirit of Bayanihan and endurance we are known for.

To the SBR.ph nation,

 

With less than two weeks to go, we know there is nothing more frustrating than to be held back, and not be able to do a race that you trained for.

Just like all the participants, we were really looking forward to experiencing triathlon for the very first time in the city of Manila.

We still get goosebumps every time we imagine swimming in Rizal’s world-class pool, biking and then running in a fully closed to the public Roxas boulevard.

We’re locked and loaded, ready for the event, and looking forward into give you guys one heck of a show.

More importantly, we are one with the Manila Police District and their decision to postpone the race.

For the race to be a success, we need nothing less than the 100% commitment of the Philippine National Police force.

And we cannot say enough, how much damage, Typhoon Yolanda has caused our country.

As agreed upon, we will be offering a FULL REFUND to everyone who registered to Tri Manila 2013
