The AKKAW! Baler Off-Road Triathlon is a 750m Swim-35k Bike-5k Run off-road sprint triathlon happening on August 21, 2016 at Sabang Beach, Baler. This event is for the benefit of the Baler Sports Youth Program.

Course Description:
SWIM – The 750-meter swim will be a beach-start on the shores of Barangay Sabang. Here lies the scenic boardwalk of Baler with clean beaches, accommodations and restaurants. Water has small swells but calm and medium deep level. Transition 1 will be at this area.

BIKE – From beachfront, bike will go through 35 kilometers of sand, rice fields, grassland and rocky trails of Baler and San Luis. It will be a single loop race from Barangay Sabang and will end with transition 2 atop Ermita Hill.

RUN – The 5 kilometer run will start from Ermita Hill and will pass through the shrine of 7-families, fire roads, mangrove and crossing through the hanging bridge leading to the Municipal Park of Baler where the race will end.

Non-elite age-groups: 16 – 19; 20 – 29; 30 – 39; 40 – 49; 50 -59; 60 and above (Male and female)

Open Relay – team must consist of two (2) participants only

Awards and Prizes:
Sprint – Medals to all finishers; Top 3 age-group winners will receive gift packs; and Cash Prizes for Top 3 Elite winners – both Male & Female Special award for local triathletes (Baler and Aurora residents) – Cash Prize and Medals (Top 3) and gift packages

Relay – Top three (3) team finishers will be awarded

*All registered participants will receive: race bib number, finisher shirt, finisher medal or token, post-race meal, raffle and discount coupons & free surfing lesson
