National Triathlon Team Performs at ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup 2020
Fresh of its Southeast Asian Games success last year, the Philippine National Triathlon Team once again showed their poise and speed at the ASTC Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup 2020.
Fer Casares wins the first Southeast Asian sprint champs in Rayong ASTC sprint events. Adorna cops silver and Huelgas got bronze.
The first five male finishers in the Southeast Asia category are from the Phil with Singaporean Li Chua coming in second. Huelgas was 3rd followed by Edward Macalalad and Jc Abad.
Adorna was caught in the final 2kms of the 5km run leg by Singaporean junior champion and YOG veteran Emma Middleditch after leading by 3 mins out of Transition2. Middleditch also cops the junior elite gold medal.
Overall, it was a good performance for the Philippines among the ASEAN countries as it shares honors with Singapore. The next stop for team Phil is the Tainan ASTC Cup in Southern Taiwan on March 8, 2020.
