Tri United 2 | Race Results and Review

Congratulations to the winners and finishers of one of the most anticipated races of the year, Tri United 2! The course as expected was hot, wild, and windy!

Aside from the cool live streaming, the race featured a lot of firsts. One is the total road closure which is a dream come true for every triathlete in the Philippines. We may have pissed off a lot of motorists, but hey, this is a big, big, step for Philippine triathlon. We can only hope that other races would follow suit :) Nothing beats just worrying about how hard you need to hammer those pedals and keep your eyes focused on the road.

The wild waves of the sprint distance race proved too much for some of the participants as some did not even bother to start anymore. I can’t blame them honestly because from what was reported to us, even the kayak’s were capsizing! Reminds me of last years Tri United though :) Hmm.. which is tougher? :)

The venue of course, was outstanding. Nothing against the previous host but Playa Laiya is just so much better. The food is great plus you have a lot of other accommodation options to choose from.
