Triathlon Returns to Its Roots in CamSur for 5150 Race

In a blast from the past, the IRONMAN Group and Sunrise Events are bringing back triathlon to Camarines Sur, where the first internationally renowned IRONMAN brand races started in the Philippines over twelve years ago. This year, on August 6, the 5150 Triathlon will take place in CamSur. This beginner-friendly course offers a variety of modern amenities, perfect harmony with heritage sites, and old soul charm, making it an adventure travel destination.

The race will feature an Olympic distance swim-bike-run event of 51.50 kilometers (1.5km swim, 40km bike, and 10km run) and the shorter Sunrise Sprint triathlon race with a 400m swim, a 20km bike, and a 5km run. The Go For Gold Sunrise Sprint event offers an introductory distance to those who are trying triathlon for the first time. CamSur provides a unique swim course – a 1.5km or 400m swim in still waters that make a first-time triathlete’s race unintimidating.

To celebrate the OG race, CamSur Alums & TriClub teams will receive special benefits during race weekend. A special commemorative ribbon for finishers’ medals will be gifted to the alumni who finished the 2009-2011 IRONMAN 70.3 and IRONKIDS CamSur races, and a special award will be given to top athletes in age categories under 40 and over 41 years old. TriClub teams will benefit from their own team cabana at the TriClub Hub, where members and families can relax and enjoy exclusive amenities.

In addition to the perks for CamSur Alumni and TriClub teams, a 5150 package discount is available to any registrant who will race the three destinations this year. Instead of paying US$495, participants will save $95 with this promo. Moreover, groups of five can take advantage of the 4+1 Group Discount promo for any of the 5150 & Go for Gold Sunrise Sprint Philippines races in 2023, with the first 20 groups to register receiving a free bike jersey for each destination.

The race course for both the Olympic and the Go for Gold Sunrise Sprint distances will start at the wakeboard park in the CamSur Watersports Complex, exiting the wakeboard park to transition into the CWC road. Athletes will then start the bike course heading towards Pili-diversion Road and head to Barangay Anayan, then back to CWC park. The run course will then head towards the San Antonio National Highschool, returning towards the finish line at CWC.

Register now and take advantage of the promos for the 5150 Package or the 4+1 Group discount with free bike jerseys for the first 20 team sign-ups!
