WHERE IT WENT :

We admit, it took awhile before we were able to disburse the funds. The reason for that is that we wanted to make sure that the funds we raised will go directly to the victims of the super typhoon. Yes, we announced as well that we will give it to a certain government agency. But, truth be told, we decided not to. You just have to read the papers to find out why.

After a thorough research, we ultimately decided to give most of the funds to the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation. We donated 200k to them in which they will use to build 8 motorized boats amounting to 25k each. Each boat will be named SBR.ph Nation 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8! How cool is that right?

WHY WE CHOSE THEM :

The reason for this is really simple.. TRANSPARENCY. We can’t believe the amount of times I mentioned this to Anton of Yellow Boat when I was asking about their project. The funds that  SBR.ph raised at the auction is not ours. Which is why the SBR.ph nation deserves to know where every bit of their money went.

We decided to donate boats because we wanted the people of Tacloban, and those from other cities who got affected, to slowly rebuild their lives by giving them, their means of livelihood.

HOW ELSE CAN YOU HELP :

We highly encourage everyone to support the Yellow Boat of Hope foundation. To know more about Yellow Boat, visit their facebook page at www.facebook.com/YellowBoat

OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE LOOKED AT :

We’ve also made initial talks with the groups below before ultimately deciding to go for Yellow Boat. At the end of the day, helping is helping. It doesn’t matter where or who you decided to help. Do check out the list below and hope you guys can support them too! :)

WHERE DID THE FUNDS GO? :

From the 203,500 thousand raised :

1. 200k was donated to the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation.

2. 3,500 to be donated to Atty. Goyo Larazabal and Thumbie Remigio of Adrenaline Multisport for 1 portable water filter. (check to be given on 1/20/14)

That’s it for now.

Thanks SBR.ph Nation!
