TAG | The Age Grouper | Judith Caneza

Like what we always say here on SBR.ph, it’s the age-groupers who truly make up the sport. The fast ones may always get the medals and accolades, but at the end of the day, it’s the non-podium (slower) ones, who epitomizes what this crazy sport of ours is all about.

In most cases, you’ll see athletes with their heads down, totally frustrated with their race. Some people would surely opt for the quick fix and go for a D.N.F., but with Judith?

What’s Your Reason? | Tri United 2 2013 Race Report

We all have our reasons why we race. Last Tri United 2, most raced out of pure competitiveness. Others raced for a worthy cause, to beat diabetes, to inspire other people, to fulfill a promise. Some raced, well, just because they love the pain.

Pushing Boundaries | Wake Up And Smell The Coffee

“A triathlete’s worst trait is that we simply don’t know when to give up”. In light of the tragedy that happened in Tri United 1, wherein we lost a fellow triathlete, I just can’t help but think about some of the things that happened to me last year. As everyone knows, I missed Ironman Cebu 70.3 because of severe anemia. I got out of the hospital exactly 1 week before the race and as expected, I was dead set on competing. Hey, how hard can a 70.3 be right? I did 4 Ironman’s already!
